I recently had a phone call that concerned me a great deal. A couple called me who had booked their wedding with another company and had been the victims of fraud. Just hours before their ceremony their “minister” had called an cancelled one them…and furthermore refused to refund their money. Unfortunately, this happens more often than you might think. That it happens at all is unacceptable.

When booking your special day, don’t be afraid to ask questions. Ask for references. Look for a company that has a good reputation and sound business practices. Be sure to find out how long they have been in business and what their policies are regarding cancellations, rescheduling, and refunds…as well as their officiants qualifications.

Another thing to consider when booking your event is whether or not the company you have selected has a back up plan in case of bad weather. You’ll find there are many chapels and wedding services advertised in the Myrtle Beach that do not actually have a building to use for back up. While we all would prefer to do weddings on our beautiful beaches, bad weather is sometimes a factor. Do not risk having you special day ruined. Make sure your minister has a back up.
